Voting and Civic Engagement
Civic engagement stands at the center of everything we do as an organization. All the advocacy, education/information awareness, service delivery, and research/data programs we engage in, are ultimately, fundamentally useless without a commitment to being active participants in the civic process.
2024 is going to be a very important years given the Supreme Court's recent ruling and the new legislative maps recommended by Governor Evers and adopted by the state legislature. These new maps are going to make our districts that much more politically competitive, which as a result, will make the issues, a higher priority and focus when voters decide which candidate should represent them in the. But it is not only the state-wide legislative races that matter. Voters will be deciding who represents them at the local level, who will serve in the judiciary, and of course, who will represent Wisconsin at the federal level.
Voter turnout is absolutely crucial. Myvote.wi.gov is a one-stop shop which allows people to register to vote, to learn who the candidates are, to see what issues are on the ballot in your communities, and to find your local polling place. Myvote.wi.gov provides information on the upcoming elections, it allows you to see who your municipal clerk is, and to even track your ballot.
